I think B&W would be great here along with a different angle, lower perhaps. What is the background? Is it old too? Maybe show a bit of that also. Nice start.

Neat object. Is it yours? I think B&W would be appropriate for this. There really isn't any color anyway. Ray's idea of a shot of the wheel is good. I'd like to see the gears up-close. Try using a desk lamp or reading lamp for an off camera light and experiment with the shadows.

I'm also thinking this machine should be taken in Black and white might emphasize the old. No? What do you guys think?

Lara, this looks like an interesting old object. I have a problem with this in that the in-focus part is the same part where you see the reflection of your camera's flash. Have you thought of going for a different angle altogether and catching the shape of the wheel - perhaps a quarter of it? Also explore how necessary your in-camera flash is here.
