From Olaf.dk: Thanks for the comments on my two self-portraits!

When I took the pictures, the main idea was to use my screen as the only light source (perfect soft-box) and make the room fade to black. So my focus in the process was not very much on the imposed photo of the flower, but rather on the composition, and light and shadows on the face. I do agree with the comment of the screen image being too obviously added in post-processing.

I hope I didn't break any rules, but with the feedback of the comments, I've changed my two self-portraits slightly: On this image (Digital - Dark - Room I) I changed the color of my face to be more in balance with the yellow image on the screen. I had done some already, but not enough. On both shots I put a mask on the screen image to make it look more realistic. I shot the photos with the screen all white, and made the mask by using the magic wand on the white screen image and expanding the selection by 2 pixels, after which I feathered by 2 pixels (in the original 6MP-size file). This made the imposed flower shot look more realistic. As you can see my screen IS pretty flat.

This image is the one that I flipped (mirrored) horizontally. I did this because I thought it looked more like I could be having the computer mouse in my right hand that way. I guess I could just as well have been left handed.

* it's a good idea, but the image on the screen is a bit too >good< There's no curvature on it and the glow from this bright yellow image should be cast onto your face. The lighting doesn't quite add up, that's all, but the elements are all in the right places.
