St. Andrews Church

Rankine Street

St. Andrew's Uniting Church with its twin towers, dominates the centre of the town from its magnificent position above the bridge. A small Presbyterian Church, built in 1844 was gradually enlarged over the years and the square tower was added in 1869 to house a bell given by Edward Stirling, a bell that was too large for the spire. The clock was installed in 1896.
