Our Yard

Two images of a rare visitor! In 15 years of bird photography, I've only seen, not photographed, this tiny bird once and that was SW of Ottawa. Presently, this little guy/lady came and paid us a visit as we were eating breakfast. It surprised me; hence, it took me awhile to ID it. Twice it came up very close to the house and almost flew into our window. By the time I ran down to get my camera, it had moved to the far corner of our lot where I could just get a couple of through-the-window shots. It then flew off to the neighbour's yard.

Not great images, but nice visitor nevertheless. By the time I got dressed, it had moved out of our neighbour's yard too and I haven't been able to locate it since.

WOW!! A very rare visitor for Ottawa! I'd love to see one. How fortunate it chose your yard to visit!! It may still be around (hope!!). Excellent shots.

Wonder if recent low pressure systems have imported him; or, as others suggest - climate change and new territories. Great snaps to 'prove' its existence.

Hank, I'm convinced that 'climate change' is real - - In Virginia, we have lots of Tufted Titmouse all-year-long; you may be seeing the migration North!
