The Bull public house is at least 200 years old and is one of a number of inns that sprang up in the village of Theale to cater for the stagecoach passengers that would be on their way from Bath or Bristol to London.
Today, the town just sees local traffic, having been by-passed in 1986, although much longer-distance traffic that passed through here in olden times would have used the M4 motorway from 1971.
