Peregrine Falcons with Late Lunch

Ottawa, Ont. Canada

The peregrines are feasting on a Racing Pigeon. I found out that the CU on the band means that it is a racing pigeon, the 2016 is the year this one was born and the portion of another number #325 is the pigeons individual number which if we had the complete number we would be able to find out exactly where the pigeon originated from. I also found out that this is also a Blue Checkered Pigeon.

I took an other look at the two Peregrine shots you posted Catherine. They are both incredibly sharp, well composed and against a super blue sky. You obviously had good light, but the sharpness and picture quality are just amazing for the P900.

FANTASTIC shot of the pair Catherine. Tack sharp, good light and nice lunch-time action captured. About two weeks ago, I saw this pair in a similar situation, where the larger Falcon (probably the female) had the Pigeon and wasn't about to share it with the smaller male.
