Loch An Eilein, Cairngorms, Scotland

Pillows of soft deep white snow, unblemished perfection stretches out across the near frozen surface of Loch An Eilein it's ruined castle and two guardian scots pine silhouetted by the backlit glow from the setting sun illuminating a bank of rising mist. Winter rarely imparts a more magical atmosphere than this and I felt very privileged to be there when it did.
