This unusual building is in Hines, Oregon (just south of Burns). I discovered it by accident while driving through town on my way to California. All or almost all windows were boarded up. A central doorway on the recessed balcony appeared to be in use.
I got the impression that the building was being used for storage. In fact, the ground floor was actually ground (partially concrete) , covered with numerous vehcles, appliances, and various other stuff. There were no markings on the building to identify it. I'm curious to know what its original purpose was.
My vantage point was at the center of this WikiMapia aerial view.
