Chokecherry flowers (Prunus virginiana)

Reveler Conservation Area

Tent caterpillars frequently lay their eggs on this native tree species. Many other moth caterpillars are attracted to the tree too, but not in the same large numbers as tent caterpillars. Many insects nectar on the flowers and wildlife eats the fruit.
