One of our native ladybeetles. This little one can be abundant and is found in both open areas and along wooded trails. This one has quite a bit of pollen on it, showing it has been visiting flowers. These beetles are aphid predators as well as feeding on a number of other insects, but they also consume quite a lot of pollen, according to Bug Guide, which also notes dandelions as a favoured pollen source (and they can be seen in numbers on dandelions).
