Dark Eyes

I believe this is a Dark-Eyed Junco, anyway the features and coloration are just like the one in my "Birds of Oregon" book. :) I feel fortunate to even see the small birds right now, let along get a good shot of one. I was pleased to see this pretty little thing!

well caught...up here north of the border they are known as Oregon Juncos, and are regulars at the bird feeder..

The colors of the lichen on the branch are a wonderful counterpoint to the browns and blacks of the bird.
