This Great Blue Heron at Delta Ponds decided it was time for a change of scenery. I got a few shots as it flew off. This was my favorite. The pond is becoming filled with a plant that is an invasive species but I don't recall the name of it. Some areas are still free of it, as that in the background in the picture. Ducks and geese do eat the underwater parts of the plants but not enough to make a difference. Anyway, the Great Blue Herob, Green Heron, and Great White Egret don't seem to mind these water plants. It seems that some other, smaller birds no longer frequent these areas.
