Glowing in the Sunlight
This beautiful flower was made even prettier by the backlight coming through it. Not sure of the name but it reminds me of morning-glory. The flower was intertwined in a fence and beautified it.

A Lot of Fluff
This Rhea was sitting in the grass all fluffed up. Don't know why but thought it made an interesting picture!

Really Getting Into Its Work!
On a neighborhood walk I passed a beautiful yard full of flowers. Bees and other pollinators were busy buzzing from flower to flower.
I tried to get as close as I could to this one.

Landing Pad
I am pleased to get this photo of a bee in flight, even if the bee could be a bit sharper. But then, I think it conveys that the bee is in motion. Even though the 70-300 is not a close up lens, it certainly did well in my view (which isn't all that great, considering my vision problems. I have trouble even seeing the bees).

Red Sun
Carol and I got this view tonight on the way home from dinner with friends. The sun's brilliance was dulled by the dark clouds above. Just below the sun were layers or lighter clouds. Then we have a layer of clear sky and finally the trees. I dropped Carol off at home and had to drive a couple miles away to a spot where I could get a good view. It was an awesome sky, unfortunately due to smoke from fires in the area!

Taking Flight
This Great Blue Heron at Delta Ponds decided it was time for a change of scenery. I got a few shots as it flew off. This was my favorite. The pond is becoming filled with a plant that is an invasive species but I don't recall the name of it. Some areas are still free of it, as that in the background in the picture. Ducks and geese do eat the underwater parts of the plants but not enough to make a difference. Anyway, the Great Blue Herob, Green Heron, and Great White Egret don't seem to mind these water plants. It seems that some other, smaller birds no longer frequent these areas.

Handsome and Proud
I think osprey are such beautiful birds! This one was watchful for its next meal. That beak is sort of scary. Makes me glad they don't hunt us! LOL
The little V2 did a fine job, I think! This is a 50% crop!

Fun at the Lake
This boater seems to either be having a lot of fun or putting on a show for me. I appreciated the sweeping turn!

Striking a Pose (Not taking off!)
I would like to think that this Great Blue Heron assumed this pose just for me, but that would mean that I was assuming a lot myself. And you know what they say about 'assume'!
Note: The heron is not about to fly away! It isnt going anywhere! Actually, there is another heron on the right, out of ghe picture, and they began to make aggressive moves toward each other. I was ignored. Photo was made at Alton Baker Park

Some Kind of Flower
I saw this flower at Alton Baker Park along the Pre Trail. It's a wild flower. Seems the majority think it is Water Hemlock. I thought it was very pretty.

The Rose - America's Favorite Flower!
There is nothing like a rose! I loved this colorful specimen with the water drops on the petals.
