Skeletonized basswood leaves

Reveler Conservation Area. These basswood leaves, high up in the canopy, have been skeletonized by the feeding of one insect or another. Didn't see anything on the tree so not sure what did this, but many insects can do this sort of thing. Actually looks rather delicate and filigree-like in the sun.
