One of the most beautiful stretches of the west coast of Scotland. Gruinard Bay at low tide shows a red sand beach often furrowed by deeply lined and rippled sand from the considerable tidal excursion. I took this just before a September squall was about to strike beneath a darkened sky in strongly etched warm early morning light that spawned a series of devastatingly bright rainbows. The inky blue clouds and red sunlit furrowed sand make a powerful set of opposing hues.
