Ecce Homo

The figure of Jesus brought before Pontius Pilate by Jacob Epstein, created in 1935 and donated to the cathedral by his widow. To my eye this is just so full of compressed strength, both in form and correctly portraying the subject that it dwarfs his later bronzes. http://www.tate.org.uk/art/artists/sir-jacob-epstein-1061
