This puts me in mind of a sleeping elephant, with its deeply fissured skin and inscrutable intentions. I love it. --Stefan

He may have been like my Dad and gave his time and his items that suited it, to the local History Museum. If anyone had reason to be around the Wichita, Ks area, there it a little town called Douglass that my Dad grew up around and my grandparents lived out their lives. They have a fantastic museum, and especially fantastic because if you liked I could get you a private tour from my step mother who is the curator. Before my Dad passed away they both were curators of it. They knew everything there was to know about everything in the place. Awesome, it was!

He no longer had it when he died. I am not sure if he was pressured to give it up or did so freely.

Just think he could have found a dinosaur if he got lucky. I would love to see his collection. I hope it is still in the family.

Just beautiful! My dad grew up in Wall SD just outside the badlands and his uncle stayed behind when the family move during the Dust Bowl. The uncle had just the most amazing collection of fossils that he pulled from the hills - back before it was illegal.
