April 19, 2011 at 4:30 in the afternoon while driving back to New Jersey, at mile marker 53 on the Glenn Highway- Tok cut-off which is 250 miles from Anchorage, I fell asleep behind the wheel and crashed my RAV4. About 30 minutes after the crash Diane (Dede) Duntze a Nurse Practitioner from the Cross Road Medical Center, North Country Clinic arrived on scene and brought me to the near-by rural clinic and treated me. I was airlifted, by helicopter, back to Anchorage and admitted to Providence Medical Center with serious chest injuries. A medic on scene kindly took care of sasha for several days and then her son drove sasha to Alaska Pet Boarding & Daycare in Anchorage where I reunited with her after I was discharged from the hospital.
