I got my Nikon D1x back from Nikon Repair, the one that I had dropped on cement . They had to replace the complete viewfinder module, not an inexpensive repair. But now the camera is really like brand new. Since I have so much into it I want to keep it, and I love shooting with it. Back when I learned the repair cost, I was reluctant to spend the money and bought a second mint D1x. Now I no longer need two D1x bodies, so decided to sell the other one on ebay.
The camera sold and I was paid immediately. The buyer is a trucker who was coming through Eugene this evening and asked if he could pick the camera up in person. I met him at the Coburg truck stop. He is the nicest guy and I had a great visit with him. He is just now moving to digital from an F4 that he has used for some time. It will be fun to stay in touch with him and help him get used to the D1x. He has some fine lenses to use with it. Of course, I had to shoot a picture of him. It was dark at the truck stop with only light directly overhead, so lighting was tough.
