Bushman's Pegs (Grevillea glauca)

The woody fruits of this Grevillea are about 3.5 cm diameter, splitting to release the one or two seeds. It isn't too hard to imagine how they were employed as clothes pegs.

other sizes: small medium original auto

A good name indicative of (probably) previous uses, for as you say, easy to envisage them being used as pegs in a pinch! A terrific photo too of this interesting cluster.
