Grand Masters Palace – the Throne Room, or Supreme Council Hall, built originally during the reign of Grand Master La Cassiere (1572-1581).
The cycle of wall paintings decorating the upper part of the hall depict various episodes of the 1565 Great Siege of Malta. In 1818, the British
transformed the hall by completely covering the walls with neo-classical architectural features. These were removed in the early 20th century.
