Smoky

Our view - some "back burning" being carried out by our local CFS to control undergrowth
in a National Park not far from where we live. Not much wind so the smoke is hanging there
in the air, not good for an asthmatic... and we always hope the fire doesn't escape if some
wind pops up and spreads the cinders. We're still very dry here, need a week-long rain...

Hope that the rain comes soon!

You must have a fear every time they light these controlled fires...

I understand, that this gives you an unsecure feel... hope the fire doesn't pop out...

Beautifully composed and a very interesting scene with the misty smoke. V

It is a necessary nuisance in this country! But has caused massive out of control fires here. Hope it hasn't affected you Yvonne.

Know the feeling , some rain would go very well...always risky when they burn back but does help in the long run...

Everyone must be careful when it's so dry all over.

A very necessary precaution I wish they did more often in small patches as the first people used to do.

Seems like strange timing for a controlled burn. Super capture of the mountains and the smoke gives the scene a moody feel. V.

I'm surprised they would deliberately start a fire Von - risky I would have thought!

We're dry too. Hope you get rain soon!

A fine shot of this dry area, can clearly see the smoke. I hope it rains soon! V

Sorry to hear it is so dry. You captured the smoky effect very nicely. Well done!

Yes, that is always scary. Good thing to do though to help prevent wild fires.
Mieke WA Minkjan08-Apr-2013 07:49
hopefully they keep an eye on their own back burning as recently this practise resulted in big bush fires

even a controlled burn gives cause for concern...hope it's all okay by nightfall and that you get some rain soon
joseantonio08-Apr-2013 04:22
Yes is not difficult that some accident happen...V.

We're still very dry also, such a long hot summer this year. Even the moaning frogs are not giving nightly concerts, they need some rain also.
