Open burns are illegal in our neighborhood.

Nevertheless, the neighbors behind us decided to burn a large pile of leaves or trash or something at the property line near their next door neighbor. For a while, the fire got out of control with flames going 10 feet into the air. Someone called the fire department. However by the time the fire truck arrived on the scene, things were fortunately again under control as seen in the photo. Rather than allow firemen into the back yard to see what had actually happened , I heard the neighbors say "We were having a hot dog roast. Things are okay now".

Meanwhile, there remains a pile of garbage about 3 feet tall and 20 feet wide that they still need to get rid of. Hopefully, they don't again try to burn it. Our area is suffering from a draught and the danger of fire spreading is high.
