The thing about this is, it's just so good I want to see more! Love the lichen, and grasses at the bottom.

The dry stone walls were one of the best parts of England to me. Them and the sheep, that is. It just amazes me how they put up these walls which, by the way, stand 5-6 feet tall and stretch for miles and miles in some places. Not to mention, a lot of them were standing for hundreds of years too! Looking at low mountains or high hills, whichever they are, and these walls start from a little farm house and go up up up and over the hill. They go here and there and everywhere. I just think, well before tv and the internet, what else was there to do but go and stack up the perfect rock on that wall from sun up to sun down. Amazing things these walls.

tracy kidder wrote a book about stone walls - one of the comments was pulling a huge stone out of the earth was like remove a molar. From this book I learned the love of building and that what we put up will be touched by someone else. Thanks for bringing this in.
