Roof rolled back. The large tarp pulls back when the roof is closed providing shade during the day. At night it is pulled down making for a "foyer". Concrete pads used to support huge drying kilns for tobacco. A 30" gap between pads provided the space for the pier. Soil is sandy - so the hole is 26 x 36 x 48 deep. Hole has gravel base with a large patio stone placed and leveled. Hole was filled with concrete and a fork lift lowered the 8x8" steel pier allowing it to fill with concrete from the bottom.
