"ikkaisei"

The Japanese translation would mean "ONCE IN A LIFETIME". This is how I view my photographic effort using film. When the shutter is depressed, that instant is captured on the films' emulsion. When viewed on a screen using a slide projector, the photograph shows exactly what was captured. No manipulation or enhancements. The decisive moment of the exposure, made by pre-process - not post process.

Monitor calibration has been performed to match my scanner and end result on the screen. Your monitor may show differently. Fuji Provia has different qualities as compared to Velvia, as to Kodak E200. Inherent colour cast is a character of each film type, and to be preserved.

I shoot mostly with medium format Pentax 67 cameras. A 67ii is used for landscape with the Lee bellows hood and various square filters. An old school wood Berlebach tripod carries the load with a B1 ball head. A Shen Hao XPO 4x5 is a recent large format acquisition and will form a new gallery as photographs are made.

Please enjoy my efforts and feel free to leave comments. Most frames are best viewed in Original size or Large, with added comments below the picture. They are far from perfection, but they are "ikkaisei".
