Impressive, but maybe a little too much….
20-MAR-2012 Marisa

Impressive, but maybe a little too much….

Schaffhausen - (Switzerland)

Turning at random around a corner, we suddenly found this, how to say, very richly decorated house, and a kind of a little raving baroque triumph.

Absolutely amazing, but I supposed that living there must be just a bit overwhelming after a while, like eating all a delicious but heavy cake covered with huge doses of whipped cream.

In all cases it deserved more than a simple look and a couple of photos without any doubt!

This is very similar, in its excesses, to a building I saw in a square in Mittenwald, Southern Bavaria.....an area famed for its decorated houses. However,it was very tall, with a mostly dark brown background, and made the area seem gloomy and oppressive.
This one, whilst somewhat overpowering, is quite pretty and colourful. What a lot of work went into that decoration.

What a splendid building and brilliant image of it. One thing I am always sure of with your images is that the subject is always presented at its very best, as it is here. ~VVV~

Oui, je pense que c'est un peu trop... impossible à entretenir !
Tu vois que tu voyages encore.
Je suis en train de charger quelques photos de Nyon et des environs, une première sortie.
Amicalement, Kriss.

Quite a stunning building in its own right. I can't say I have seen such a place like this, myself. Greatly composed, Marisa. BV
