SANITARY SEWER

Saginaw, TX

Never thought of a sewer being sanitary.

Have been catching up on my work pics as well as a ton of yardwork and housework that I've gotten behind on. Put a big dent in it but now I'm behind on commenting. Will try to catch up tonight or in the morning.

I see them all the time but the incongruity never occurred to me. Until now. :) Great find for contrasts and love the post processing.

Hard metal with rust against green! YES.

I guess it's quite sanitary while the lid is on it :))

lots of contrasts Cindi in your capture
but if you can imagine what kind of diseases can be spread by an open sewage system, then I would prefer the sanitary sewer!

A great contrast between the grass and the sewer lid. Very well seen!

From Wikipedia. :-)
A sanitary sewer (also called a foul sewer) is a separate underground carriage system specifically for transporting sewage from houses and commercial buildings to treatment or disposal. Sanitary sewers serving industrial areas also carry industrial wastewater. The 'system of sewers' is called sewerage.

Sanitary sewers are operated separately and independently of storm drains, which carry the runoff of rain and other water which wash into city streets.[1]:Ch.I [2] Sewers carrying both sewage and stormwater together are called combined sewers.

clever.. yes the soft grass and the manmade hard iron circle.. lots of contrasts!

As a technical ignorant I have no idea what this is good for. But the circle is a fine contrast to the grass.

I guess the question is ....... How can a sewer ever be "sanitary?" I'll probably lose sleep over that one ........ and it's all your fault :-)
