In A Fog

British Columbia

A colour version of this can be found at http://www.pbase.com/peterjay45/image/141941649.
I felt that removing the colour gave a different feel, gloomier and a slight air of mystery.

What is behind the lights? Beautiful and mysterious image!

I like both the colors and the b&w versions. The color version has a more upbeat feeling to it as if the fog will lift and a sunny day will be revealed. The b&w version is moodier and more mysterious. Her the viewer is more interested at what is at the end of the next curve of the boardwalk. The fog is definitely more effective here.

Great shot.. It seems stepped out from a George Simenon's novel... :)

I prefer this version because it has a stronger sense of mood. Wonderful light and patina in the planks. V

Haunting, eerie, and distinctive, my vote is for this version. Wonderful work my
friend.

More sinister in B&W imho - full of texture and intrigue!!BV

Yes, it is a delight to compare both versions, and I would not know to say which one I prefer. The B&W is more mysterious and more disturbing, obviously, but the two are real marvels of images, Peter. BV.

the graphic nature of this image, and the pulsating atmosphere, work wonderfully in monochrome...that said the colour version is also memorable...admirably inquisitive to compare the two...V
