Iced Ginger

Loch Achanalt, Strathbran, Scotland

A sliver of caramel light at sunrise turns the frosted birch trees at the edge of Loch Achanalt to powdered ginger, a colour that contrasts warmly with the cool reflected hues of an arctic blue and cloudless sky. Temperatures dipped to minus 20 degrees celcius which ironically gave me firm footed access to areas I would likely be unable to reach at any other time of year.
