Oak Shadow

The first evening we arrived and went for a family walk, so only had the point and squirt. I intended to come back later in the week to capture the same image with a wide angle to get the whole oak in. Unfortunately we never saw the sun again, so its half an oak! What is really worrying is the number of trees in the area that were suffering with dead leaves in July, evidently suffering some form of disease. I must check it out.

Great composition and light.
Would be nice to see the whole oak, but can you do.

Very creative and a good tree for this.
I've noticed leaves turning down south and wondered if it was due to a period of drought - just really hoping not a disease!

I like the tight framing and golden light!

Fab composition - I don't usually like centred shots but this works well...the back lighting is spot on and there's some lovely light across the field

this specimen seems healthy enough..and casts a mighty shadow through this vibrant meadow..very well captured with the compact, and in difficult conditions..V
