sceptical

today marks the summer solstice, which should mean better weather for a few months...yet after the wettest Spring in 50 years, and predictions of more damp days to come, it`s hard not to feel sceptical about this year`s arrival of summer, when ever it actually starts...this old friend, an Irishman, is enjoying the moments though, as there is still an excuse to knock back a whiskey in the late afternoon, purely for restorative reasons of course

Skeptical, and angry, but a tiny smile for the camera. Great portrait and an expression for the imagination to interpret. V

Wonderful expression. I am fairly skeptical also. I just had a storm take down my Internet connection. Rain predicted for the next 8 days. V

The 'look' says it all.
Doug Cruden21-Jun-2011 20:31
Fabulous expression - certainly says "where's this thing called summer then??"
borisalex21-Jun-2011 18:15
...we should also be sceptical about our way of life, causing all that climate change!
Colin Storey21-Jun-2011 18:06
Great portrait with that sceptical ecpression, not that much better here at the moment although we did have a very good spring. v

An expression people in Europe are having too...We had a great begining to June with temps at 25...but it didnt last long and now its rainy days...today it was sunny, raining and thunder and lightening...the weather is in a state of confusion....BV David...

Certainly a skeptical look here. We too have had little Summer in SoCal. It has been foggy every day since I can remember with temperatures barely moving out of the 60's. We were in La Jolla yesterday morning and the ocean temperature posted on the Life Guard Tower was 61F, a major clue why it's so cool and foggy. Somewhat serendipitously though it was announced on the morning news that the high will be 73F today to coincide with the start of Summer. The fog should burn off by 10 AM as well.

I like his expression of skepticism! V
