2nd - Under cover of a rainbow sky by Dennis

After a terrible cold rainy day managed to grab a few shots of a rainbow just 100 metres down the road from our home. This is a 3 shot handheld panorama.

Super catch with the bonus of good scenery and great light.
I always see rainbows when I'm in somewhere really naff, I would love to get some this clear in as nice a location

Great colours Dennis. It's a bit of a parabola too...

By the way, it's not like I actually know that stuff. I Googled optics of rainbows :) --Stefan

This is textbook beautiful, Dennis. Light refracts twice through raindrops to make the rainbow, going in and going out. Extgra reflections make the second, fainter rainbow with colors reversed. Finally, you get Alexander's dark band in between them. Way cool, man! --Stefan

what a national geographic cover. I don't believe I have ever seen a symmetrical rainbow.

An exquisite sky - the light on the grass is beautiful too. Very well done!

funny - it almost seems like the rainbows are creating an amphitheater of light. startling in contrast/ the light and dark.

Great job stitching that one together, the way clouds move and all, you musta snapped em off 1,2,3!!! It's a beautiful double rainbow for sure. I've always loved how fresh everything looks after a good rain and the sun comes out with the dark sky still there. This is just exactly what I'm talking about.
