March 15, 2011

It was a beautiful day so I decided to go flying for a while. I spent almost an hour in the pattern embarrassing myself with the low quality of my landings. It was fun, of course, but I need a lot more practice. I did end up with a very nice wheel landing which is hard to do in an airplane with springy gear like the Cessna 170. After I shut down in front of the hangar, my thoughts turned to photography. I was going to grab the G-11 and snap a few but I said, "Wait a minute, why don't you play around with the 16-35 zoom and see what develops. That I did and this is what I got. You all know that WA lenses really do distort things, but I think this is a pleasant shot of the airplane. Maybe it's just eye of the beholder.

Assymetric wheels, I got a lot to learn about airplanes.

I was experimenting. I figured to snap a few and go have a good look at them at home.

I like this a lot! I just wish the hanger wasnt there becuase I lose the right wing. But the angle is awesome!

I like the distortion of the landing gear.

Safe bet, can't take a bad shot of a 170 8-)

Now... what's the story on the Swift? It's always the Cessna getting in the air
