Sgurr Na Stri, Skye, Scotland
After a long walk in and an equally long an arduous climb I reached the summit of this not terribly large hill standing around 1700 feet. Sgurr Na Stri has a breathtaking view across to the Cuillin out of all proportion to its comparitively diminuitive stature. I chose a fine Autumnal day to climb it, then camped overnight on the summit. The next day the sky was cloudless with brilliant sunshine and the temperature reached 75 degrees farenheit, it was mid October. Unfortunately not until late morning did the shadow clear Loch Coriusk by which time haze materialised. I managed to use colour to juxtapose the cool blues with the hot red fire grass that adorned the summit.
