This juvenile Black Rhino was just separated from his mother who is about to deliver another offspring. In the wild, mother rhinos drive away their young when ready to give birth again. In the confines of the exhibit, she would have eventually cornered and killed him. He was in obvious stress, continually running about the coral and looking around.
