Order or chaos

Okay, I'll take back my remarks about men reaching into their toolkits when
they need to come up with an image.
For the Thursday challenge order and/or chaos I did think of taking a pic of
my desk as it fulfills both themes. To me it's orderly but to my boss it
represents chaos! It's only when I tidy it that I can't find something I need.
So I asked my husband if he had anything which would represent order and
he suggested this feeler gauge. Although it's designed to be used in the
auto trade he uses it for setting up his guitars. Each of the gauges can
be used for very small and accurate measurements.

Nicely done! Have several of these, but as spark plugs go so long now without much need for regapping... I usually used the wire end of my duplex guages, houwever. Hmmm, guitar. Hmmm other uses. Hmmmmm!

I've got a couple of these somewhere - changing to diesel relegated them to the far corners of the garage! Great POV and lighting. V

well done!
Kevin Chester26-Mar-2010 13:06
I use them a lot at work, but I wouldn't know where to start with my guitar, they look well used and have made a great still life shot.
Neal Nye26-Mar-2010 11:16
I hope they didn't get so greasy and dirty from his guitars! But they make a wonderful shot, especially with that one yellow blade.

Lovely composition and photo. I like the one colored part of the gauge against the monotone elements of the wheel.
Colin Storey26-Mar-2010 10:21

You took a 'boring' subject and made a gorgeous shot. VERY well done. :)

order and chaos are the very polarities of existence...maintaining a balance is inevitably a tricky game...love this fascinating and evidently precision gizmo...feeler gauge sounds exotic...glad to surmise it was found in a guitar case, and not a toolkit...V

Nice macro shot. They won't be very accurate with all that surface rust though...
Dennis Hoyne26-Mar-2010 02:15
