15th - "Bike"

Bletchley, Bucks.

(from the 1967 album The Piper at the Gates of Dawn)

Finn and I visited Bletchley Park again yesterday, and came across this motley collection of old bikes...some with bells, some with baskets...but they all look good! As a point of interest, these are all from the WWII era (although the green and blue handle-bar grips look decidedly modern)

Great find but they need some work. Poor things. Makes a great photo op and perfect for the song!

good collection of sturdy old bikes..the brakes certainly confirm their age..cheap, reliable, and green transport with such a long history...too bad if they are allowed to rust away..V

What an interesting find these are, I'll bet they could tell a tale or two!!

Cool find and nice shot of the old timers. I like the big light on the one.

Well, they've seen better days. It is odd how they are displayed, with the back wheel in concrete?? Thanks for sharing this unusual find.

Poor old things...they made the perfect subject !!

Great capture, its amazing how the back wheels have almost disintigrated, or have they been embedded into the concrete?

You and burnt-out bikes seems to feature often - did one give you a bad experience in your childhood?! :o)
