I still find your Pelicans to be a lot more attractive than ours. I always thought it was just the colors but, even in the b&w I find her very pretty. You know what I find curious, it is the shell claw on the end of the beak. I always thought birds lost those soon after hatching. I'm wondering if your Pelican friend there, doesn't loose that egg opener so she can use it to open other hard shelled crustasians as an adult? It looks like the claw on that foot of Art's chicken foot (guessing it was that).

Sharp, sharp - both focus and beak. And the stare is pretty sharp too. Wonderful portrayal of this bird!

Wow! Some creatures, like this pelican, just seem so improbable yet here they are. You were so lucky to have him/her pose for you. And yup -- he/she will outstare me any day :-)
