As a small boy I would travel every year to Miami Beach with my Mother and relatives in the 50's, stay at the Arlington Hotel and eat often at wolfies, im now 68 and this site is bringing tears to my eyes just thinking of what Miami beach was back in the day.

Marie, they are not for sale. The numerous people who scanned the old photos did the vast majority of them at low resolution and in small sizes so they don't make great prints like high resolution and large file sizes would be to make prints.

"Rosie" the waitress used to squeeze the fresh oranges into the juicer each morning for the freshest glass of orange-juice around, pulp and all! I also saw Don King (fight promoter) eating there one day in the 70s. I am sure he had many meals there over time.

I was in the Marine Corps, stationed in Opa Locka, 1954/'56. Spent a lot of time in Miami Beach. I remember the Fountainbleu wouldn't let us in unless we were in uniform. A friend of mine had a fight in Wolfie's. The friend was a pro wrestler whose partner's stage name was Don Eagle. The tight ended with my friend tossing a guy through a window at Wolfie's. Also, there was a USO type place down the road, off of Collins we used to go to a lot. Had a lot of good times on Collins Ave way back when.

In 1977 i spent two weeks in Miami Beach, we stayed at the Seven Seas. The last day my sister and cousins set out to find some where to eat and we found Wolfies, I remember how busy it was inside. Our breakfast was hearty and the waitress was so nice to us, even though we where under 15 years old. I have always wondered what happend to this place, great to see it.

Wow! Wolfie's looks exactly like I remember it. I ate there many many times with my Aunt Georgie. She was a night owl and we would get the notion to go there and have a sandwich. Roast Beef, of course, with all you can eat delicious cole slaw and pickles. Yumm!

Thank you Martha, that's what I thought instead of new construction.

Hey Don,
The Ritz did a major renovation of the DiLido. Gutted the bldg completely. Wolfie's became a Dennys for a while in the 80's until the Ritz Carlton bought the bldg and began renovations.

Martha, I've been in the Ritz Carlton when friends were staying there. Did they demolish the di Lido and build a new hotel or just refurbish the di Lido? I'm thinking the latter but I'm not sure.

The hotel is now the Ritz Carlton , Wolfies became a Dennys in the late 80's.
