Up From the Ashes

Lava Beds National Monument, CA

Yesterday, we spent the afternoon in Lava Beds National Monument. This area was burned last year and left it dead of all life. As you can see, the mosses are growing back this spring.

Not many trees were left from the fire, but always amazing watching it all regenerate!

What is destroyed by fire comes back as this well shows. Nice image of regrowth and love the composition!

Nice shot. I like the different textures going on here. Plus it's a nice example of old and new.
