The Pro - Bruce

Yes we can fly, but we have a way to go to catch up with these guys! I'm lucky to live near the Chilterns where red kites were
reintroduced some years ago. They are spreading fast, and fly over my house most days. I never stop learning from them.

I wish I could fly. Maybe that is why I do not photograph birds - pure envy (actually they always turn out like junk ;-) This is a great shot Bruce - you really can see the whole posture is just set for what it is doing - no wasted angle or posture.

It is always smart to learn from a good teacher and those are among the best....for your sport. Very nice capture, Bruce.

I am slow to appreciate the beauty of birds but the face of intense concentration in this hunter really looks me into the image.

You are right about the birds being a gift. I think of all the things on this planet, it is the birds I love the most. I know she wouldn't let me but, if she would, I would give her a nice little rub on the back of her neck. She(he) is just beautiful against the blue sky.

Wonderful shot! The bird's attentive expression and clasped claws are remarkably clear, even at this distance. We're blessed to have such creatures sharing the world with us, and when they've been damaged by human intervention, it's encouraging to see them start to rebound.
