"bird tree" tree in my yard - brenda
by

This old pear tree provides me with endless enjoyment as it's visited by many bird species, not to mention the local squirrels. It is riddled with drill holes from hairy and downy woodpeckers. Two years ago it produced two Bosc pears on the topmost branch; usually there are none at all. But it serves a better purpose and helps make my own backyard one of my favourite spots.

this is a coy bird just right for my valentines day observation.

Who needs pears when pretty birds and cutie little squirrels inhabit the tree! I like her pose, giving you the shy look, I see. ;o) I've taken a lot of woodpecker shots but I can't think of a one that is looking at the bird straight on like this, they're always from the side or back. I really like this one.
