Diminishing Tradition

Ma Wan, Hong Kong view map

The wooden racks are for sun-drying "Shrimp Paste".
Ma Wan is one of the rare places that is still using the traditional way to produce shrimp paste.

Shrimp paste is a common ingredient used in Southern Chinese cuisine.

The Kap Shui Mun Bridge (in the background) together with Tsing Ma bridge,
forms an expressway for the Hong Kong International Airport.

Nice juxtaposition of the traditional and modern and great use of lines. Thank you also for the information. I would have never guessed what the racks were for. "V"
