Inspired by Master - Joe Cornish

As one of my learning processes, I’ve studied the works of different photographic masters and
have been inspired by them, especially Joe Cornish.

Joe Cornish is one of Britain's most distinguished landscape photographers and is best known for his coastal works.
Prominent foreground features, wide depth of field and saturated colours;
combining fantastic cloudscapes with beautiful coastal scenery and blurred sea waves have become Joe's distinctive and influential style.
His portrait and square frame presentations further differentiate him from other landscape photographers.

Joe loves using an Ebony 4 x 5in field camera with 90mm (super-wide-angle), 110mm (wide-angle) and 150mm (standard) lenses.
Sometimes, neutral density (ND) graduated filters were used to balance extreme light conditions
and colour filters were used to make his pictures much more dramatic.

Joe prefers shooting in early morning and early evening;
making use of natural light and the glowing pink/golden luminosity.

As Hong Kong is a concrete jungle,
I've struggled to do landscape work approaching the quality of Joe, but I'll continue to try.

The pictures in this gallery are more or less follow Joe's style but with my own approach.
They were processed with ZERO photoshop (except the photo frame).
Only slight adjustments to tonal levels and sharpness were applied thru' Nikon Capture NX.

I welcome any comments, suggestions and/or criticisms.
