In Scotland the Spotted Redshank is usually an uncommon passage migrant although for the past few years a bird has wintered in the River Clyde at Newshot Island, Erskine or at Dumbarton. A bird was found in an unlikely location of a Glasgow inner city park at Robroyston within half a mile of a motorway and a giant Asda supermarket. By coincidence, within a week of photographing the Robroyston bird I stumbled over another one at Cameron Reservoir near St Andrews in Fife.
