Shore Lark

(eremophila alpestris)
The Shore Lark, sometimes called the Horned Lark, is an uncommon winter visitor to Scotland. Only a very few birds are likely to be present in a typical year and even that has declined recently. A reliable site used to be the John Muir Country Park near Dunbar in East Lothian. For many years, in most winters two or three birds would be present. Its preferred habitat is short cropped salt marsh and gravelly areas within the sand dunes.
