African Jacana

The African Jacana is an unmistakable bird with its long legs and its extremely long toes which enable it to walk on lily leaves and other flimsy floating vegetation. The males incubate and care for the young. All these photographs taken at Lake Awassa although we saw jacanas at many other ponds and lakes.
