It was a bitterly cold Autumnal evening with strong winds when I saw this sunset beginning to transform from bland to extraordinary all while seated in my parked car. I remember groaning at the thought of traipsing along the edge of the dunes clad in only a thin jumper. I quaked with cold and tried to stay on auto pilot while I lined up the shot, took light readings and composed a scene that maximised the colour that was building. The results were very satisfactory and to think I could have sat in the car and let it slip by unrecorded.
