I cannot recall a time where I have seen the familiar view of Stac Pollaidh's shapely peak appearing so broodily ominous as it did on this occasion. Strong sunlight has turned the reed bed and sandy lagoon into a theatre of light where we are left to wonder the fate of the brooding black summit beyond. Actually seconds after taking this Stac Pollaidh was consumed in hail and the temporary rainbow for present barely visible was extinguished to be replaced just 5 minutes later with bright sunshine and fluffy white cumulus clouds sailing through a turquoise sky.
